Well things are starting to calm down.. we have our house gutted.. we
are pulling out the last of the things that need to be pulled out.. so
.. I think it’s time to get back on the .. horse so to speak.. and so
do some of my friends.
I’ll have to inform a couple of ‘em that my new project I was talking
about will go on hold whilst I try to do this one
Thanks to everyone that’s helped in the last month.. we ARE still
without a house, but we are staying with relatives.. and doing well.
The house rebuilding should start within the next month.. so.. All’s
well so far.

Well we had a small issue.. We had a MAJOR Flood around here.. We are
currently displaced.. we are waiting to rebuild the house.. it’s
pretty clean so far.. We live in czech village in Cedar Rapids, IOWA..
Once I get settled, I’ll hopefully get back to this.. if it’s not one
thing, it’s another.. eh?

Sure it’s been a couple of weeks.. sure there isn’t any work to show..
sure you think I’ve all quit!
Well NO!.. I just have had a few web clients that are having the “Need
it now”’s
So as soon as that’s done, I should be able to jump right back on
this.. hopefully in another week or so.. I’m so itching to get this
thing started

Alright.. got things started a bit.. Got all the PDF’s downloaded and local (so I don’t have to rely on the net).
Got all the reference images down, and all the textures (as posted in the reference thread)
And I’ve got my backgrounds setup for the first part.. now time to start laying out the points!!!

Okay folks… this is the leading post on my journey through the tutorial that is Serenity.
I’m a pretty big fan of the show, I’d even say I’m a brown coat.. However, not being fully versed in the 3D work I’ve not been able to get any thing made that is worthy.
I came across this tutorial, I know it’s old, as I was revisiting my sites I used to visit. And I was like.. YEAH! we are going to try that.. so this is journal of the wild ride that is me trying to make a complex model, with very little exposure to LW.
A couple notes:
- This tutorial, I do believe, was created in 2005, however I’m using LW 9.3.1 for this
- It seems to use VertiBevel quite a bit, however I’m going to try and use native tools to LW
- I may not have alot of time to work on this, but I’ll keep this thing going as long as you are watching
Thanks everyone…. so off we go.. Look for the first post (with any good content) Thursday of this week!!
